What a horrific day.
I just learned from a friend that one of my old students has passed away from pneumonia.
She was good. She was so darn good. Brittney was one of the kids that got it. She understood what it took to be a success. She was a teacher’s dream. Smart, witty, polite, punctual, kind, helpful, honest.
Pneumonia? What? She was only twenty-two! She just graduated from college! She was going to be a teacher!
It kinds of puts things in perspective. It’s a lesson I could do without.
I can’t write anymore today.
Facebook is a great networking tool, but you also learn things from it that you wish came from a person. That is how I found out about Brittany. I’m still kind of shook up about it. I’m with you, how does someone one so young die from an illness like that. Granite, I graduated with a large class, but its only been 5 yrs and I’ve lost two classmates. Where was the gift in that happening?
