Yes it is!

The answer to yesterday’s question.
Yes it is!
Everyday is a gift.

Today I am sitting on my couch by the bay window appreciating the sunshiney view of my back yard. Hopefully the deer family I put food out* for will come for a visit. My chihuahua (Cheech) is snuggled up next to me. He sort of groany-growls every time I move just a fraction. He’s really sawing logs and soon he’ll be snoring. (Only Tom snores louder than this little guy.)

I have no energy and even though it is 10:54 A.M. I still have not gotten out of my pj’s. This is the antithesis of what I used to do on a Tuesday. Tuesdays used to be a rush. Rush to work at the clinic and wrestle with sick dogs and pissed off cats, rush to the barn at lunch and muck some stalls (make that poopy fly!), run back to work to tackle more sick animals, rush back to the barn and ride my horse, zoom home to eat dinner, and then…finally… if there was still enough day-light take a long leisurely walk with a neighbor.

I have no energy to do what needs to be done today. Hemo stole my energy.
I am so tired at moments my vision is blurred.
Is today a gift?
I am able to sit still and read a book for the first time in two months.
I am able to appreciate the mundane such as the tonal hum of my refrigerator.
I am able to do nothing. I haven’t done nothing since June.
Is today a gift?
To quote the little lady from Alaska, “You betcha!”
